Overview

Reflect is a deliberately narrow tool: a networked note-taker organised around a daily note, with backlinks, end-to-end encryption, and an AI assistant built in rather than bolted on. It is quick, it syncs cleanly across devices, and it can pull in your calendar so each day's note arrives with the day's meetings already in it. The AI can draft, edit and answer against your own notes, which is more useful here than in a bigger app because the corpus is your writing rather than a sprawling wiki. Where it loses is scope and price. There is no free plan, and it costs more than several more capable tools — you are paying for restraint and polish, which is a real thing but a hard sell. It has no plugin ecosystem, so if a feature is missing it stays missing. It is not a project manager, a database, or a team workspace. If your use case is daily writing and idea-linking and nothing else, it is excellent; step outside that and it runs out quickly.

Daily note as the default entry point
Bidirectional linking and backlinks between notes
