1. Information we collect

Account data: when you register, we collect your name, email address and (for vendors) company details.

Submission data: tool details, logos and screenshots you submit for listing.

Usage data: pages viewed, searches, saved tools and similar activity, collected via analytics.

Technical data: IP address, browser type, device and cookie identifiers.

2. How we use your information

To operate the directory: publish listings, power search, save favorites and show reviews.

To communicate: send verification, submission updates, newsletters you opt into, and support replies.

To improve and secure the service, prevent spam and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

3. Cookies & analytics

We use essential cookies for sign-in, and two analytics tools: Google Analytics 4 for traffic, and PostHog for how the directory is actually used. The Cookie Policy names every cookie we set and what each one is for.

We record product events — a search performed, a filter applied, a listing opened, an outbound click, a signup — against a random identifier, not your name or email address. Signed-in accounts are identified to us by their account id and email, so that we can support them.

We record how you first arrived: the campaign parameters in the link you clicked, the site that referred you, and the first page you landed on. This is stored for 90 days and is what tells us which of our articles are worth writing more of. Referrer URLs are stored without their query string, so a search term you typed into another site is never kept.

If your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal we set no analytics cookies and load no analytics script at all. Nothing else needs to be turned off, and the site works normally.

We do not run advertising or retargeting tags, and we never sell your personal data.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the site (hosting, email, payments, analytics), when required by law, or to protect our rights.

5. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal requirements. You can request deletion of your account at any time.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

7. Children

ToolsPantry is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data.
